This page is mainly intended for parents of grade 6 students who are new to band this year. Here is a list of what your child is going to need to be successful in band. WHAT WILL MY CHILD NEED FOR BAND?

you plan on renting from one of the music stores please take this note with

EVERYONE
will need:
1.
“Standard of Excellence Book 1” for your
child’s instrument. Baritone/Euphonium players please buy the baritone b.c.
(bass clef) book.
2.
A pencil.
3.
A music stand (optional, but is highly
encouraged for home practice)
4.
An instrument. Please check for your child’s
instrument specific needs.
Flutes
Check
that instrument includes a cleaning cloth and rod
Clarinets and Saxophones

of 10 reeds (2.5 strength, we are recommending Ricco Royals, they come in a
blue box)

included with the kit are not great
